It conveys how microbial processes are not isolated but shaped by broader societal contexts, reflecting the central findings of the research.It communicates both the microscopic scale of microbial action and the broader societal implications, turning the findings of the paper into a single memorable image.
Working in the Pathogen Ecology group under Alex Hall, I had the opportunity to illustrate the results of a paper on the variation of microbes on banknotes in different parts of Switzerland.
